Background | FGFR2(Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 2) is a member of the FGFR family in the 10q26 region of the human genome. It is homologous to FGFR134 and functions as a Receptor tyrosine kinase. Its structure includes an extracellular Ig-like variant domain (common IIIB/IIIC splice variants), a transmembrane region, and an intracellular kinase domain responsible for receptor autophosphorylation and signaling. The core function of FGFR2 is to regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, survival, tissue development and homeostasis maintenance, mainly through MAPK/ERK, PI3K/AKT, PLC γ and other pathways.
